PHARMACIST IN CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

Candidates are required to possess a degree in pharmacy like B pharma or M pharma and then apply for government opportunities. Pharmacists undertake the responsibility of promoting health and improving lives by managing and administering medications to address various medical conditions. In India, a vast network of approximately 17 lakh pharmacists plays a pivotal role in healthcare, ensuring the safe and effective use of drugs. Pharmacists can find job opportunities in both the public and private sectors with varying salaries. A government job with a considerable amount of experience can yield even more salaries across different Specialisations.

PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING

Pharmaceutical manufacturing is the process of industrial-scale synthesis of pharmaceutical drugs as part of the pharmaceutical industry. The process of drug manufacturing can be broken down into a series of unit operations, such as milling, granulation, coating, tablet pressing, and others.

The Government Analysts are appointed by Central Government and State Government for the purpose of test or analysis of drugs and cosmetics. They are employed in Central Drugs Laboratory and Drug Testing Laboratories of States and Union Territories.

GRADUATE in medicine/science/pharmacy/pharmaceutical chemistry of recognized University and have 5 yrs experience in testing of drugs in a laboratory under the control of -

  2. Head of approved Institution or testing laboratory
  3. Sample is collected from inspectors or other persons

DEPARTMENTS

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOGNOSY

The Department of Pharmacognosy keep abreast rapid developments in the knowledge and utilization of medicinal plants.

Department of Pharmacognosy provides information about the principles and procedures used in the identification, authentication and extraction, isolation of active constituents by chromatographic techniques, purification and development of herbal formulations and assay methods for the isolated constituents. Maharishi Arvind Institute of Pharmacy has well developed herbal garden.

Major Equipments: Microscope (Compound), Binocular Microscope, Digital Balance, Hot air oven, Vacuum rotator evaporator, Muffle Furnace, Laminar Airflow Bench, Column Chromatography, Colorimeter, Microtome.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY

The Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry emphasized on the conceptual knowledge of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry and medicinal chemistry as it related to drug discovery. The objective is to deliver skills in the innovative processes for the synthesis of drug and drug intermediates and their quality assurance using sophisticated instruments. The department has many sophisticated instruments and best facilities for students.

Major Equipments: High performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Flame Photometer, UV Spectrophotometer, pH meter, Rota evaporator.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICS

The Department of Pharmaceutics is committed to impart excellence in research and development.

The department has wide-ranging facilities that includes spacious laboratories with latest infrastructure and ultra modern equipments:

Major equipments: Disintegration test apparatus, Colorimeter, Dissolution rate test apparatus, Tablet Press (8 station rotary), Brookfield viscometer, Capsule Filling machine.

A state of the art pilot scale plant accommodating all relevant machinery is the pride of this Department.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY

Department of Pharmacology emphasized on integrated study of the physiology, Pathophysiology and action of drugs in living systems. Research in the department focuses on clinical and preclinical studies on various diseases.

Excellent research facilities are available including prevalent bioanalytical and pharmacology laboratories.

Major Equipments: Langandroff’s apparatus, Plethysmometer, Pole climbing apparatus, Rotarod apparatus, Eddy’s Hot plate, Electroconvulsiometer, Student stimulator, Histamine chamber, Actophotometer etc.
